Silk Coiled Pendant Kit - Blue

Mini-Course and Kit

Learn the ancient art of coiled basketry - with a bit of a twist. Instead of a basket, you'll craft a beautiful silk pendant.

The palette starts with a very light blue and grades up into navy.  You can make your color gradation like mine, or try your own ideas!

The mini-course guides you through every step from beginning the coil to attaching the pendant to the necklace cord.

I'll show you how to create a necklace cord that needs no clasp, and it's adjustable too!

There are enough materials to make two pendants.

Here's what you get:

7 spools of silk embroidery thread -each spool is 11yds (10m)

cotton macrame cord -100 inches (approx 2.5 m)

2 tapestry needles -in case you lose one

2 waxed cotton cords for the necklaces  - each 40 inches long (approx 1 m)

One 6x9 inch cotton muslin bag -to store it all in

The silk is really slippery and I love it. Very fiddlely at first but once the beginning is done it gets easier. I found that using a miracle clip when I put it down was very helpful. Also, a dab of fray check liquid was very handy. I’m on my second one.😻
